The raw material for making silica bricks is silica. The higher the SiO2 content of the silica raw material, the higher the refractoriness. Silica bricks are made from silica with a SiO2 content of not less than 96%, adding mineralizing agents and binding agents, and going through processes such as mixing, shaping, drying, and firing.

When preparing silica brick mud, a certain feeding sequence should be followed. First, add various silica powder and waste silica brick powder into the wet mill in a certain proportion, dry mix for 2 to 3 minutes, and then add sulfurous acid pulp waste liquid and lime. The mixture of milk and iron oxide powder is mixed for another 8 to 17 minutes according to the requirements of the molding method. The length of mud mixing time depends on the weight of the roller, the number of revolutions of the grinding plate, the amount of raw materials added, the hardness of the raw materials, the particle composition of the mud and the molding method.
